Hello! Unless you were granted an extension, the assignment submission deadline for Multifandom Doodle 2024 (round 1) has now passed. If you have an extension please refer back to our email or comment chain for your new assignment due date. Because of the number of last minute extensions and lingering pinch hits any more defaults may lead to the reveal date being pushed.

There are 4 new post-deadline pinch hits due to defaults and no-shows, and also 3 initial pinch hits which have still not been claimed for a total of 7 outstanding pinch hits. All available pinch hits are listed below. All of these pinch hits are now due Saturday, July 20 at 11:59 PM UTC, or negotiable. The collection is scheduled to open on Monday, July 22 as long as everyone who did not default and whose signup follows the rules has received a gift. If all pinch hits aren't claimed by Saturday, July 20 at 11:59 PM UTC I will push both reveal dates by a week.

Zelos Wilder: What a mess of a guy. Whether you want to draw him more serious/angsty or flirty/obnoxious, I'll love it! Just like for Regal, I also nominated my favorite costume for him, but feel free to draw him however you want.

Regal/Zelos: Criminally underrated ship!! Especially because I've been watching the anime and wow do they sure get lots of fun scenes together there. The size difference... The fact that they come from the same environment and are both not huge fans of it... Regal being genuinely clueless about some of the worst aspects of Meltokio while Zelos is clearly very much aware... The clash in personalities/overall demeanors... (Especially because Zelos is so bold while Regal seems to blush at the drop of a hat which is adorable.) Anyway I think they would have kinky sex and also Zelos should top. But even just Regal bridal carrying Zelos or Zelos climbing Regal like a tree would make me happy.

Lloyd & Regal: I beat the game on The Regal Route since he was my fave and Regal and Lloyd are sooo cute together. The brotherly vibes are real. There's a conversation you can get post-battle where Lloyd congratulates him while calling him "Mr President" and Regal blushes... My heart. I want them to hang out.

I'm obsessed with Avenger Salieri's whole deal of being the embodiment of Death and Revenge and twisted into something so unlike himself because of the way he's become perceived throughout history as perhaps having had a hand in Mozart's death and all of that. What I'm saying is I'd love angsty art where Salieri is getting whumped. Things like him forcing himself to try and kill Mozart, holding Mozart's corpse, maybe him and Avenger/the Man in Grey being separate entities that are fighting for dominance and trying to overpower him so he hurts Mozart... Definitely into things like gore, blood, just edgy vibes. Although I am not opposed to them getting nasty in other ways.

Rainer: He's my favorite character, and I'd love to see what you think he looks like! (This is true of all the human characters.) I'd love anything that reflects his role as the developer of the game as well. Video-game imagery, glitching, being trapped (trapping himself) inside the game... And of course, bathroom imagery.

Paul, Care: Putting these two together because I personally believe they're the same person and Paul is a transgender man, though you're free to draw them separately! Puzzle and flower imagery feel especially appropriate for them. I'd love to see a Paul version of the different Cares as well.

Mike: "Mike was a gift" has inspired many things in me. I'd love to see what it inspires in you! Hiding in a present, opening presents, being a present (a gift object head?)... If you'd like to draw him (and/or Rainer) with his dog, both alive and well, I'd love that, too.

Lina: Like with Mike, I love the imagery for her: the windmill, "They didn't see her", that one piece that's clearly tied to her (it's her headstone, after all.) And what about her being called "Boss"? There's a lot to think about, and I'd love to see it.

Belle: I think her sprite is very cute, in its own way. I'd love to see how you draw her in that form, though again I'd also love to see how you visualize her in the real world. Mirror imagery is good.

Guardian: I love all the forms, whether the default one you see while playing or the various other heads you can see on other players. I think the triangle headed one associated with Paul is my fave, but I do love the basic guardian a lot, and would love to see how you draw them.

The Pets: Please have fun drawing them. I think Toneth is my favorite, though Wavey is a close second. You can draw them together or with the human characters or on their own. It's all good.

I find the canonical ages for the main characters kind of wack and would prefer them to be assumed to be older (like Noa being 14-15 at the youngest, Vahn 16-17, Gala early twenties) but if you do vibe with them that's also fine.

Vahn: He is The silent protagonist to me barring maybe Red from Pokémon. I love thinking about his relationship with Meta, especially because Meta acts so alien while Vahn is just such a quintessential JRPG teen protagonist. He also gets lots of very cool outfits, and I'd love to see him show off his Ra-Seru!

Noa: She was my favorite as a child and I'm so glad to see she is still my favorite now. She was raised by a wolf!! I'd love to see her and Wolf Terra especially, maybe when she was younger, sleeping with her mom, or playing, or training, or just hanging out. Art of her in any of her outfits would be cool too.

Gala: Now this is a guy I found boring as a kid and can better appreciate now, lol. I love his annoyed big brother energy and the fact that he still lets Vahn be the leader. And I love that he gets to wear earrings!! He should show off his buff figure, I think.

The three protagonists: Like I said, I love the dynamic between the three of them, with Gala as the more serious, down-to-earth older brother and Noa as the excitable little sister. Hanging out in Sol! Watching Vahn fish! Training together! A moment of downtime in an inn! Anything goes.

Cort: Definitely one of my OG little meow meows. Unfortunately I haven't reached him yet in my replay so I can only work with my childhood memories, but it's so rare to see art of him (or, lbr, this game in general) that I'd love anything showing him off, especially in his late game appearances. He's my Sephiroth, in a way...

Puera: My favorite Seru! I love the card gimmick, so I'd especially love card/tarot inspired art featuring them, but really, just seeing Puera would put a smile on my face.

Creator's Choice of Seru: The monster design is one of the highlights of this game, imo! If any of the Seru catch your eye, please feel free to draw them for me!

Rim Elm: Iconic location for sure. I'd especially love to see it in an unusual style: painting, pixel art, whatever else you can think of. I replayed the beginning of the game a lot as a kid, so Rim Elm is definitely The Legaia location in my mind, and I do love the layout, with the wall surrounding it and the sea...

A couple of people have privately sent me art they created based on something I'd written, and I was absolutely stunned and tickled both times. I'd love to see a depiction of something from a story I've written, fandom or characters don't matter. Anything would be fantastic!

If you're considering this option but haven't read anything I've written, know that I've written a number of drabbles, most are old and not very good but I'd still be tickled to get art based on one, still love the fandoms and characters. I have about 20 200-word-and-under options with 20 or so more that are under 500 words too.

As I was scrolling through the tags, I saw "person taking a selfie with a mythological character," and I'm so charmed by the idea. It would be funny if the mythological character is either horrified at getting their picture taken or completely delighted and hamming it up for the camera.
