Hi, I hope you're all enjoying your doodling!

Works for Multifandom Doodle 2023 (round 2) will be due in a little over a week on Monday, December 18 at 11:59 PM UTC. This may be earlier than midnight in your timezone (for example, in Eastern Standard Time the deadline is at 6:59 PM). A countdown timer may be viewed here.

Especially if you are using a new image host, please check your assignment before the deadline and before reveals to make sure your embed link works and your image is visible. There have been issues with a couple of works due to image hosts disabling embeds, placing a very short time limit on hosting, etc. I will be checking all assignments at the deadline for rules compliance and will attempt to catch any broken links at that time, but won't be looking at treats and won't be going through assignments again before reveals so wanted to give a heads up about this.

There is one initial pinch hit outstanding. If you are familiar with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, or Hololive (Virtual Streamers) please follow this link to view the IPH post and leave a comment there or email multifandomdoodle@gmail.com if you are able to pick up the pinch hit.

Right now there are no additional pinch hits so any no-shows or last minute defaults will be posted as post-deadline pinch hits next week. As a reminder the collection opening will be delayed if every participant (who did not default and whose signup follows the rules) does not have a gift by the scheduled gift reveal time.

Signups close on November 13th at 11:59 PM UTC - remember that this may be earlier than midnight in your timezone.

As a reminder, here are the signup rules and guidelines:

• When signing up, you choose which characters/ships you'd like to receive fanart of, and which characters/ships you'll offer to draw fanart for. You can only request and offer characters/relationships that are in the tagset.
• The "Any" box means "any character or ship in this fandom that has been nominated for this exchange." It does not mean "any character in the fandom as a whole."
• You can request 3-10 different fandoms, with 1-20 characters/ships per fandom. You can offer 4-10 different fandoms with 1-20 characters/ships per fandom.
• This exchange uses "or" matching, and your gifter is only required to create something based on one of your characters/ships. Please keep this in mind when prompting.
• In the "Description" section of the signup form, you can write prompts for your artist to get a better idea of what you want. It's generally a good idea to list out tropes, kinks, or visuals that you tend to like, as well as give some prompts specific to your requested characters/ships. "Dear artist" letters are not required, but they are welcome!
• You can also include DNWs (Do Not Wants), which are things you don't want to see in your gift. DNWs can include anything, but you may not use them to try and railroad your gifter into making one specific drawing (e.g. "DNW anything except a picture of catboy Kylo Ren kneeling at Rey's feet while she holds his collar and looks at him lovingly"). You may not use DNWs that contradict your requested tags (e.g. requesting a "/" relationship and then DNWing shipping, requesting a general "Trans [Character]" AU tag and DNWing the character being drawn as nonbinary or transmasculine).
• You are encouraged to list any stylistic preferences you have, and artists are encouraged to take these into account. Due to ambiguity and the beginner-friendly structure of this exchange, style- and medium-related DNWs will not be enforced (e.g. "DNW traditional art", "DNW CalArts style", "DNW anime style").

Here are some additional, general reminders:

• All participants must be the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction.
• If you choose to request a fandom with no character/ship/setting tags in the tagset, your artist has free rein to draw anything that could reasonably be interpreted as having to do with that fandom. Any details/requests you add related to that fandom in your signup or letter will be considered optional details.
• If the tag you want to request/offer isn't showing up in the dropdown after you've selected a fandom, copy and paste the tag into your signup exactly as it appears in the tagset.
• When matching runs, participants who aren't be able to be matched as a gifter will be matched at random to a recipient who requested Creator's Choice. If you do not want to be matched to a Creator's Choice request as a gifter, check the requests summary before signups close to make sure you are matchable to a specific fandom or OW request. If you are requesting Creator's Choice, be aware that you may end up with more than one assigned gifter and potentially more than one official gift because of this rule.
• In 2021 during the nominations phase we shared a few AO3 exchange guidelines & art posting resources that some participants who were new to either AO3 exchanges or to posting fanart on AO3 found helpful. These resources will be posted in a comment on this post. If you have other resources that you have found helpful please feel free to reply with these, especially because Discord will no longer work as a permanent image file host by the end of this year.
• Kinkshaming, ship-bashing, harassment, trolling, and deliberately spiteful art are banned.
  
  • Trolling includes egregious bad faith attempts to "game" matching during signups/assignments. To use last round as an example of bad faith gaming: If you have concerns about a potentially rule breaking signup, please just comment here or email the mod account so the mod can deal with it. Do not attempt to secretly deal with it yourself by signing up solely in an attempt to match to the potential rule breaker.

Hello! Nominations are finally open for Multifandom Doodle 2023, round 2. The tagset can be found here.

Please read through the nominations & eligibility rules below before nominating.

Eligibility

• All fandoms, characters, and ships are eligible for this exchange.
• Original Work, Creator's Choice of Fandom, and RPF are eligible for this exchange.
  • Mods reserve the right to reject Original Work and RPF nominations deemed to be in bad taste (e.g. Nazi RPF, underage RPF).
• All participants must be the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction.

Nominations & Eligibility 

• Each participant can nominate up to 10 fandoms, with up to 20 characters/ships in each fandom. 
  
  • General, appearance-related AUs may be nominated as part of the character tag at mod discretion (e.g. "Female Roy Mustang", "Black Usagi Tsukino", "Desi Harry Potter", "Transfeminine Dudley Dursley", "Human Catra", "Galra Keith Kogane"). Any appearance-related AU that can't be clearly summed up in one or two words should be saved for the optional details of your request.
• Relationships between two or more characters are still nominated as individual "characters." To nominate a relationship, nominate them by putting "group: " before their names, in the following format:
  • group: Character A/Character B or group: Character A & Character B or group: Character A/Character B & Character C, etc.
• Romantic and/or sexual relationships are denoted by the / sign between the characters' names, and platonic and/or familial relationships are denoted by the & sign between the characters' names.
• You may nominate settings and/or objects as individual "characters" or as part of relationships (e.g. "place: Howl's Castle", "group: Nico di Angelo & the Lotus Hotel and Casino", "group: Dean Winchester/The Impala"). 
  • Please nominate individual places/settings with "Place:" or "Setting:" in front of them, to disambiguate them from characters and freeforms (e.g. "Place: The Moonpool", "Setting: the Hundred-Acre Wood").
• You may nominate "Any"/"Creator's Choice" characters and ships using the format: "Creator's Choice of [x]". For example, "Creator's Choice of Marcia Overstrand's Outfits", "Creator's Choice of Pokemon", "As Many Mythological Creatures As Creator Can Think Of", etc. 
• Please nominate crossover relationships under the fandom "Crossover Fandom." When nominating them, please use the format "group: Character A (Fandom 1)/Character B (Fandom 2)."
• Please nominate original characters and relationships under the fandom "Original Work." Descriptive character names are recommended. "Mermaid/Pirate" is pretty vague, while "Curvy Blue-haired Tattoo Artist Mermaid/Roguish Tattooed Butch Pirate" gives a better idea of what visuals and dynamics someone might be looking to request or draw. 
  • If you have a gender preference for an original ship (e.g. you want "Elf Paladin/Orc Druid" but only if they're both female), you must nominate the ship with genders included in the names (e.g. "Female Elf Paladin/Female Orc Druid"). 
  • This exchange was originally designed for the benefit of fandom artists and creators and shouldn't be treated as a space to request free commissions. If you have OCs in mind that are so specific they cannot be described within the character limit of an AO3 tag, please nominate and request the "Recipient's OC or TTRPG Character" tag in the fandom "Original Work".

Additional clarification for 2023 round 2 that may be added to the rules depending on how this round goes: Illustrations of a recipient's fic should be nominated under specific fandom(s), using a character tag for that fandom, and disambiguated, as something like "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recipient's AO3 Fic (Fandom)". For example, "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recip's AO3 Fic (SW:OT)", nominated under Star Wars: Original Trilogy.
