Hello, I hope the nominations period has been going well for everyone! Signups are still slated to open in the next few hours (experimenting with a nomination/signup overlap period this round).

There are several nomination clarifications, mostly to do with improperly categorized or formatted tags. If there are questions or concerns about any of these clarifications, please comment below - anon is enabled.


Any Fandom I've Requested Before
All tags

These tags aren't within the scope of this exchange right now, mostly because it's meant to be beginner friendly but also for ease of matching and avoiding defaults. Please re-phrase/re-nominate these tags either:

1. Under specific fandoms in the Multifandom Doodle 2024 Round 1 tagset (e.g. [Fandom] -> Creator's Choice of M/F Ship ([Fandom])); or
2. Under Creator's Choice of Fandom (e.g. CCOF -> Creator's Choice of Femslash Ship).

Tags nominated under "Any Fandom I've Requested Before" at the time nominations close will be rejected.

Any Fandom I've Created In Before

Illustrations of a recipient's fic should be nominated under specific fandom(s), using a character tag for that fandom, and disambiguated, using the format "Creator's Choice of Illuminated Page from Recipient's AO3 Fic (Fandom)", e.g. "Creator's Choice of Illuminated Page from Recipient's AO3 Fic (SW:OT)", nominated under Star Wars: Original Trilogy (can delete the "Creator's Choice of" part if that makes the tag too long).

Tags nominated under "Any Fandom I've Created In Before" at the time nominations close will be rejected.

Creator's Choice of Fandom
A Hopeless Dawn by Frank Bramley (Painting) and all other Painting tags nominated in CCOF

These are existing works of art. Please nominate them under an appropriate fandom name, ideally with each painting as a separate fandom (and no character tags) or under "Paintings - [Artist Name]". Any existing artwork nominated under CCOF or OW at the time nominations close will be rejected.

Creator's Choice of Fandom
Creator's Choice of Scene from Recipient's AO3 Fic in the Style of a Medieval Illumination (OW)

Illustrations of a recipient's fic should be nominated under specific fandom(s), using a character tag for that fandom, and disambiguated, using the format "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recipient's AO3 Fic (Fandom)", e.g. "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recip's AO3 Fic (SW:OT)", nominated under Star Wars: Original Trilogy.

If this tag is meant to refer to a recipient's Original Work fic, please nominate this tag under OW (not CCOF) and format it as: Creator's Choice of Scene from Recipient's OW Fic in the Style of a Medieval Illumination (OW).

Video Blogging RPF
GeminiTay (Video Blogging RPF)

This is less of a clarification and more of a heads up! GeminiTay (HermitCraft) is in the tagset under both Hermitcraft SMP and Video Blogging RPF, and the pending tag GeminiTay (Video Blogging RPF) seems to be causing AO3 to freak out a little bit because of this. Therefore I'm going to reject the tag GeminiTay (Video Blogging RPF). If GeminiTay (Video Blogging RPF) is different from GeminiTay (Hermitcraft), let me know and I'll see if I can add this tag in manually, since AO3 does not want to let it through the usual way.


Nominations close June 3 so please make sure you nominate anything you may want to request or offer before 11:59 PM UTC on June 3. Remember that this may be earlier than midnight in your timezone.

There are three clarifications related to the tagset.


Signups are scheduled to open on or before November 1. Changes to the tagset cannot be made after signups open so please take a moment over the next 12-24 hours to check any fandoms you may want to request or offer in the tagset and comment on this post if you find anything amiss such as misspelled tags, duplicate tags, tags that don't have "group:"/"object:"/"place:"/etc. in front of them when they should, or misassociated/migrating tags. Also, feel free to email/comment if you would like to make any last minute additions.

Hello! Nominations are finally open for Multifandom Doodle 2023, round 2. The tagset can be found here.

Please read through the nominations & eligibility rules below before nominating.

Eligibility

• All fandoms, characters, and ships are eligible for this exchange.
• Original Work, Creator's Choice of Fandom, and RPF are eligible for this exchange.
  • Mods reserve the right to reject Original Work and RPF nominations deemed to be in bad taste (e.g. Nazi RPF, underage RPF).
• All participants must be the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction.

Nominations & Eligibility 

• Each participant can nominate up to 10 fandoms, with up to 20 characters/ships in each fandom. 
  
  • General, appearance-related AUs may be nominated as part of the character tag at mod discretion (e.g. "Female Roy Mustang", "Black Usagi Tsukino", "Desi Harry Potter", "Transfeminine Dudley Dursley", "Human Catra", "Galra Keith Kogane"). Any appearance-related AU that can't be clearly summed up in one or two words should be saved for the optional details of your request.
• Relationships between two or more characters are still nominated as individual "characters." To nominate a relationship, nominate them by putting "group: " before their names, in the following format:
  • group: Character A/Character B or group: Character A & Character B or group: Character A/Character B & Character C, etc.
• Romantic and/or sexual relationships are denoted by the / sign between the characters' names, and platonic and/or familial relationships are denoted by the & sign between the characters' names.
• You may nominate settings and/or objects as individual "characters" or as part of relationships (e.g. "place: Howl's Castle", "group: Nico di Angelo & the Lotus Hotel and Casino", "group: Dean Winchester/The Impala"). 
  • Please nominate individual places/settings with "Place:" or "Setting:" in front of them, to disambiguate them from characters and freeforms (e.g. "Place: The Moonpool", "Setting: the Hundred-Acre Wood").
• You may nominate "Any"/"Creator's Choice" characters and ships using the format: "Creator's Choice of [x]". For example, "Creator's Choice of Marcia Overstrand's Outfits", "Creator's Choice of Pokemon", "As Many Mythological Creatures As Creator Can Think Of", etc. 
• Please nominate crossover relationships under the fandom "Crossover Fandom." When nominating them, please use the format "group: Character A (Fandom 1)/Character B (Fandom 2)."
• Please nominate original characters and relationships under the fandom "Original Work." Descriptive character names are recommended. "Mermaid/Pirate" is pretty vague, while "Curvy Blue-haired Tattoo Artist Mermaid/Roguish Tattooed Butch Pirate" gives a better idea of what visuals and dynamics someone might be looking to request or draw. 
  • If you have a gender preference for an original ship (e.g. you want "Elf Paladin/Orc Druid" but only if they're both female), you must nominate the ship with genders included in the names (e.g. "Female Elf Paladin/Female Orc Druid"). 
  • This exchange was originally designed for the benefit of fandom artists and creators and shouldn't be treated as a space to request free commissions. If you have OCs in mind that are so specific they cannot be described within the character limit of an AO3 tag, please nominate and request the "Recipient's OC or TTRPG Character" tag in the fandom "Original Work".

Additional clarification for 2023 round 2 that may be added to the rules depending on how this round goes: Illustrations of a recipient's fic should be nominated under specific fandom(s), using a character tag for that fandom, and disambiguated, as something like "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recipient's AO3 Fic (Fandom)". For example, "Creator's Choice of Scene from Recip's AO3 Fic (SW:OT)", nominated under Star Wars: Original Trilogy.

Alternative Flags (OFMD)

• Should this nomination be changed to "Object: Alternative Flags"? If this is not clarified and/or the nominator doesn't change this by the deadline that is how it will be approved since it doesn't seem to be a character name.
• Is this tag sufficiently clear to explain what you want (are the alternative flags canonical and canonically known as such)?

Hello! Nominations are now officially open for Multifandom Doodle 2022... Round 2!

The schedule for this round has shifted slightly so that the nominations close date, signups close date, and assignment due date now fall on Mondays instead of Sundays. There will be no change to reveals dates (December 25 for works and January 1 for creators).

There have been no rule changes since 2022 Round 1 but please review the nominations & eligibility rules below before nominating.

Please review the art commission tags on your social media of choice to find artists who are open to commissions.

Hi everyone, thank you for all your nominations so far! As the nominations period continues, there are a few announcements and clarification requests for participants.

Announcements

• All "Creator's Choice of Fandom" nominations are currently being auto-rejected by the tagset on AO3. For now, please either comment on this post with your Creator's Choice of Fandom nominations, or email your Creator's Choice of Fandom nominations to multifandomdoodle@gmail.com. 
  • Do not nominate your Creator's Choice of Fandom tags to the tagset with a different fandom name like "Creator's Choice of Fandom: Original Tag Didn't Work For Some Reason". This generates more confusion and more tags that need to be cleaned up, removed and/or reassociated. 
• Please remember to use the Group: format for & and / nominations (ex. "Group: Character X/Character Y & Character Z"). 
• Please check your fandom(s) for duplicate or misspelled tags and comment here if you notice any duplicates or misspellings, so they can be corrected before signups open.

Clarifications 

Dirty Jobs RPF

• Group: Mike Rowe doing a future dirty job

These tags seem to involve only one character and the tags also seem to include specific prompts, which is not within the scope of this exchange. Remember that you can always put specific prompts in your optional details or letter during signups! Please clarify what you are trying to nominate or edit your nominated tags so the tags can be approved. 


As a general clarification, please remember that the nominations stage is the time when character/ship/object/setting tags can be added to the tagset. The tagset is not the place to put prompts. Tags such as "group: Elmo climbing into Oscar's trashcan & Oscar trying to push him out" or "group: Bert & Bert's Pigeons trying to lift him off the ground to fly with them" will be rejected or edited (e.g. "Group: Elmo & Oscar", "Group: Bert & Bert's Pigeons"). Please just nominate your desired character(s) or ship(s) -- you will have the chance to add as many prompts for them as you want in your Optional Details during the requests stage!

• If you are interested in a round of Multifandom Doodle that includes prompt freeforms, please provide this feedback in the feedback post at the end of the round.

Hello! 

After nominations closed, a tagset fandom cleanup request was made for Marvel 616 and two more requests were later made for DCU comics and KOTOR/Star Wars Legends cleanup. Signups are going to be delayed until the requested cleanups have been done. 

If anyone familiar with Marvel 616, DCU comics, and/or KOTOR/Star Wars Legends fandoms is able to weigh in, please join the discussion on the Nominations Closed post -- this would be very helpful! 

A post will be made here on the Dreamwidth comm when signups open. Hopefully this will be no later than end of day November 2 (UTC).
